Since its inception, Mass Spec has continued the innovative use of mass spectrometry in forensics

Mass Spec's continued work on banknote analysis has resulted in the compilation of a vast database of drugs on banknotes. This is believed to be the largest database of currency in the world. The use of our novel forensic approach has assisted in the seizure of hundreds of millions of pounds, and the successful prosecution of individuals connected to drugs.

In 2003, the Company expanded its operations by adding the analysis of body fluids for alcohol content to its capabilities.

In 2007, the laboratory achieved accreditation for all its analytical services from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
